Killing Floor 2 Survival map
Description
This map is called KF-RIG. A classic survival map for the game Killing Floor 2. As part of a 2 man team, I was responsible for the level design and map functionality.
First some explanation for people not familiar with Killing Floor 2. Killing Floor 2 or KF2 in short, is a wave based pve shooter. You can play with up to 6 people in a team.
Players can choose different classes to build a team composition that is up to the challenge for the map at hand. Throughout the match the team will need to beat waves that are made up of different combinations of enemies. Scaling up the difficulty as they go along. Concluding with a boss wave to win the match.
There are 2 ways to play this game:
- Camping with your team.This is clearly not what the developers had in mind, patches were released to eliminate camping positions from existing maps.
- Kiting. Be on the move constantly and try to keep the enemies behind you.This requires more teamwork and communication it is easier to win on higher difficulties.
This map has been made with kiting in mind since this is the way that the game was meant to be played and my preference.
